[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Oh the beautiful art in Valletta! One day there were several new little out-door monuments dotted around Valletta. That was great for me, Pompe the TravellerDog, as there were more things for me to sniff!
Each one of the new monuments represented a Maltese saying. Here is what it said on some of the explaining plaques:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1760″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]‘The braying of an ass does not reach heaven’, which means ‘Those in authority disregard the powerless’ or ‘fools are not taken seriously by anyone’.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1759″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]’Never has the little fish eaten the big one’, which means ‘The weak will never overcome the mighty’.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1757″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]’Those who insert themselves between the onion and it’s skin will be marked by its odor’, which means ‘Those who poke their noses in other people’s affairs are asking for trouble’.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1756″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]‘The hasty cat brings forth blind kittens’, which means ‘hasty decisions or work done in a hurry often results in mistakes’.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1755″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]‘In from one ear and out the other’ which the sign says is said of people who choose to ignore whatever others try to tell them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you want to see more of what Valletta looks like, go to my post about walks in Valletta. If you want to read more about traveling with a dog to Malta, mama has written quite a bit about it on the page Plan a Trip – Malta.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
