Plate of good food in Sicily

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]My grandma came to visit me, Pompe! My grandma is the best grandma in the world, always happy and has lots of goodies and toys for me.

I, of course, didn’t know she was about to come, but I was sure glad to see her! While in Malta, mama and grandma decided to take a short trip to Sicily, which is only 2 hours by ferry from Malta.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1734″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]The trip requires some planning if you bring a dog like me. There are no special preparations to be made to take a pet dog from Malta to Italy, apart from the usual passport and all vaccinations up to date.

But to bring a dog from Italy to Malta requires a veterinary visit, that anti-worm medication is taken 72-24 hours prior to the entry into the country, and you also need to notify the Maltese immigration authorities that your dog is about to enter into Malta. One needs to do all these things, even if you just go for a day-trip to Sicily.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1735″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]But a trip to Sicily is well worth it! The food is much better in Sicily compared to Malta and there is a lot to see. Similar to Malta, Sicily has a very rich history. But dissimilar to Malta, Sicily’s nature is quite varied. There are mountains, beaches, ancient cities and farmland.

I really enjoyed discovering Sicily and all it’s different environments and smells.

Note from mama: Make sure to follow every rule for taking domestic pets into Malta. Despite that Malta has much bigger border-headaches than domestic pets who may have worms, the authorities take the task of policing people’s pets very seriously. We learned that the hard way when entering Malta for the first time.
