After sniffing and discovering Manoel Island, mama and I stumbled upon a Thai-party in a bar called the Funky Monkey Bar. What an awesome way to end a great afternoon!
This bar is the kind where everyone is welcome; big, small, human and non-human. The bar’s furniture is… well… how do I say? Low-budget is not quite the word. The furniture is so low budget that I, Pompe the TravellerDog, couldn’t tell what was furniture and not! Several times I jumped onto what mama was quick to point out – a table.
In any case, at this party there was a lot of good food, incense, women with flower-tiaras in their hair and an amazing dancer performing traditional Indian dances.
Mama and I made several new human friends. I met two other dog-friends and four new human child-friends. The only down-side of the party was that there were not cats for me to chase.
All the party participants were up for a pleasant surprise, check this post to find out what.
Note from mama: The Funky Monkey bar is quite dog-friendly, and there is a lot of space. Although there is an indoor part of the bar, most of it is outdoors and partially under a roof. There were several dogs at the Funky Monkey when we were there. I recommend making sure your dog has peed/pooped before entering the bar as the outdoor part of the bar is gravel. I can’t blame Pompe for not understanding that peeing on that gravel was off-limits…
How to get there: The Funky Monkey bar is a short walk from Sliema. You can also get there by car, there are several parking spaces right outside the bar.
