The men thought my mama was alright, but what they were really after was becoming friends with me! They lifted me up on a bar stool and started feeding me the amazing Maltese delicacies they had ordered. I got chicken legs, meat cakes and many more types of tasty finger food.
The friendly men even started singing to me! Apparently, the Maltese don’t only love visitors, they also love dogs. They love dogs so much that they have a famous Maltese song about love for dogs. One of the men found the tune on his phone and put it on. The men, standing around the barstool I was sitting on, started singing along and pointed happily at me during every refrain.
Hobbu d doggy. Hobbu d doggy. Hobbu d doggy… This apparently means ‘love of dogs’ in Maltese. And as an extra bonus, the doggy in the song was a Poodle, like me.
This was truly an amazing experience for a little dog, however it was also a bit overwhelming. Although I’m used to attention, I’m not used to this level of attention.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1461″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/P-IQHMmC5J8 “][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2”][vc_column_text]
But the friendly men inspired me to make a song that I’m calling ‘Love of the Maltese’. The refrain goes like this ‘wooof, whoff, woff, Awww, Awww. Whoooooof, whoff, whoff, whoooooffffff!’. It means ‘the Maltese are the best people in the world and please give me some more of your delicious food!’.
Malta is truely amazing, not only for the friendly people. There is a lot to see on this little island, check out what we saw on the Malta bus tour.
