Two people dressed up in beautiful historic costumes on Malta

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Malta is a place with a lot of fascinating history! Because of the island’s strategic position in the middle of the busy Mediterranean Sea, many nations and people have conquered and/or settled on the island throughout history. The Phoenicians (from the Middle East), the Romans, the Ottomans (Turks) and the Brits are the most famous ones.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]The rich history can be felt everywhere in Malta. I don’t know why, but you just feel the history. Maybe because of the many huge walls and trenches that are around many of the cities?

Mama and I have also met some historical people on the streets of Malta. The people were nice, but I was a bit scared of the woman. She looked suspicious to me with the feathers, so I was a bit scared of her.

If you are curious to know what the beautiful town of Valletta looks like, I have several pictures and a few videos on the post Visiting Valletta – TravellerDog’s Favorite Walks.

I definitely recommend reading about Malta’s rich history and found the Visit Malta site to be very informative. For instance, did you know that in ancient times, Malta had an advanced matriartic society? One can visit the fascinating ruins from that time, but unfortunately, I never had time to do that, and dogs are not allowed in the historic sites.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]
